Short bio

Ibrahim is former Africa Editor for Goal.com, formerly SoccerAge.com. At 16, he began working for the Italy-headquartered company as its Africa Correspondent, and in 2004 as Africa Editor. After seven years with the company, he resigned in 2007. He is a contributor to Free Kick and THE League, Canadian and British magazines, respectively. In recognition of his role in using sport as a tool for development, Ibrahim has received acknowledgments from a number of personalities which include Mr. Adolf Ogi, former President of Switzerland, also former Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary General on Sport for Development and Peace. Ibrahim is Co-founder of NeonCirc (www.neoncirc.org), an NGO that plans to promote health issues in Africa with a theme: "HIV prevention for the next generation."

My involvement in Sport & Development

Ibrahim is honorary president of the Cameroon Association of Active Youths Sport Academy for the Underprivileged (http://www.camaaysap.apictureaday.com/index.html). A native of Sierra Leone, West Africa, he survived a brutal civil war and at 13 years old, he moved and settled in THE Gambia for 7 years after war broke out in Freetown. His experiences greatly inspire him to use sport as a tool to promoting peace, health, and education.
