Short bio

I studied Information and Communication Technology before focusing on development studies. I completed my Master’s thesis about the involvement of the World Bank in Extractive Industries. Since then, I’ve tried to combine ways through which information technologies can be used to contribute to development. I find it particularly interesting to reflect on how organisations with limited resources can benefit from technological innovation. I’m also a passionate basketball fan, player and coach. Therefore, it’s only natural I ended up in the exciting field of sport and development!

My involvement in Sport & Development

I've been working on the Platform since February 2006 and recently moved to Cape Town in order to engage key S&D actors on sportanddev.org. I believe the Platform can greatly contribute to the exchange of information and good practice in the area of S&D. I’ve also coordinated the organisation of three major S&D events in Casablanca (May 2008), Bern (June 2008), and Nairobi (June 2009). Finally, I’ve recently been involved in research related to the Football for Hope Centres.
