At the request of the Haitian Olympic Committee (HOC), Peace and Sport launches a campaign for solidarity within the international sports movement in order to support the HOC in its mission to support and give guidance to Haitian youth through sport.

A project using football to address development themes in line with the MDGs has just been launched. Objectives include eradicating poverty and hunger, combating diseases and promoting football global partnerships.

The Laureus Sports Awards took place on March 10 at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The winners of the awards comprised renown athletes such as Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, Nawal El Moutawakel and Dikembe Mutombo.
