About this project
Fight for Peace provides practical alternatives to crime and organised armed violence for children and youth in disadvantaged communities via social inclusion through sports, education, access to the formal work market, the promotion of a culture of peace and building youth leaders.
Use of boxing in the project
Fight for Peace community projects are based on the ‘Five Pillars’ model, an integrated methodology developed with staff and young people at Fight for Peace's original project in Rio de Janeiro.

- Boxing and other martial arts training and competition;
- Formal and extra-curriculum education programmes and personal development sessions;
- Access to formal employment through job skills training and referrals to paid internships;
- Support services and targeted referrals for young people and their families;
- Building youth leaders via participation in a youth council and leadership training.
