Kylie Bates is Senior Sport for Development Consultant for the Pacific Region with the Australian Sports Commission. Her role at the Australian Sports Commission involves overseeing AusAID funded sport for development programmes in the Pacific region. She is also part of the management committee for the Oceania Sport Education Program, designed to improve governance in Pacific Island sporting organisations.

Kylie has a background in sports management, community development and health programmes and has worked for Special Olympics in Nepal and on the Silver Jubilee Sports Programme in Papua New Guinea. She has also consulted for the WHO on a behaviour change programme in Kiribati. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Movements (Exercise Management) and a Masters degree in International and Community Development.
