Maya van Gent

Maya van Gent graduated in 2003 with a PhD from Northwest University (South Africa). Her PhD had the title ''A positional selection protocol for adolescent rugby players''.

From 2000-2004, she worked as a part-time lecturer and sport scientist at the Human Movement Science Department at Northwest University. She is currently the Head of the Human Movement Science Department at the University of Fort Hare. Her research interests are sport development, athlete development, talent identification, sport science and exercise physiology.
