and development centre was among organisations that organised Go Sisters World series event.

Sunday the 8th of May brought together 16 teams comprising of 4 boys and 4 girls, the idea was to inspire and develop girls through football.

Girls cannot be developed or inspired in isolation, our experience is that its more productive to empower girls/women though involvement of both gender.

Participants not only played football but were taken through life skills drills and forums during the event.

We aimed at creating more awareness, understanding and encouraging more girls' participation in sports and gain more awareness on the significance of educating a girl/women and informal settlement challenges affecting their position and performance in the community.

By the end of the tournament girls participation increased by 30%.
