Audacious Academy for Sports and Social Development highlights two projects in India

The Audacious Academy for Sports and Social Development (AASSD) is based in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It is an exclusive wing of the Audacious Dreams Foundation and uses sports as a tool to empower and educate young rural Indians.

The Challenge India Sports for Development programme is an action based community development project that aims to reach rural villages where there are no opportunities for sustainable primary education or progression into higher education. Sport is used for career guidance, skills development, social learning, improving health and nutrition and promoting gender equality.

AASSD has designed a sport for training model that looks at all aspects of participants’ personal and professional lives and aims to empower young people. The organisation aims to expand the programme from supporting 200 children in 2012 to 10,000 in 2015.

The Institute of Youth Affairs and Social Development (IYASD) programme is a study abroad sceme which aims to benefit both Indian and international students. Students learn about and implement projects related to sport, poverty reduction, education, entrepreneurship and a range of other areas.

The project aims to create a rich learning experience in a multicultural environment. Sport is used as a medium to run the learning projects.
