#BeActive for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

Share your tips and routines for staying active at home.

In response to global developments concerning the COVID19 pandemic, there is obviously no event to mark the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace at the United Nations this year. Instead, the UN is encouraging all of us to follow WHO guidelines for physical activity on its website for the international day.

Let’s all join the #BeActive effort by sharing our tips and routines with each other during this time of sheltering at home.

Here’s how you can take part:
  • Share three things/exercises on your social media platforms you are doing to #BeActive during current containment measures
  • Better yet, accompany the tips with a photo(s) of you or home sheltering partner(s) demonstrating your tips
  • Even better, post a video demonstrating your tips. We would be grateful if you could film a simple short video on your phone, encouraging people to #BeActive and share their ideas
Ideas for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook posts:

  • I was hoping to be at the @UN to celebrate International Sport Day in April, and to discuss how sport can advance the #GlobalGoals. Instead, I’m staying #HealthyAtHome.
  • And: To #BeActive, I … (tip/activity you practice/etc.). And you, what is your way to #BeActive? I would love to see your tips. It would be fun to try new things.
