Beyond Sport create two new awards for sport initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals to promote collaboration and partnerships between organisations.

Following the close of entries to the general Beyond Sport Global Award categories, the Beyond Sport Foundation is excited to launch a new initiative to drive collaboration between multiple organisations to exponentially increase their ability to drive social change on a single Global Goal.

Together with our partners, we are launching two Collective Impact Awards, which will see increased support and investment go to a group of organisations to work together to share best practice, work through issues in real time, and drive real, sustainable impact through sport.

These two programmes are:

The Collective Impact Awards will mark the largest investment in single issue areas from the Beyond Sport Foundation to date, with grants totalling over $450,000 for the two awards.

Over the course of 12 months, the dual cutting-edge programmes will enable selected organisations to benefit from each other’s individual expertise, increase monitoring and evaluation capacity and allow the groups to work through problems together in real time.

Data collected from the programme will be published in two comprehensive reports summarising the findings of the project to accelerate best practice on leveraging sport to address their respective Global Goals: #10 Reduced Inequalities and #13 Climate Action.

This approach is an innovative and collaborative way to ensure that funds are being leveraged in the most impactful manner possible.

We have been working hard to develop ways the Beyond Sport Global Awards can further support the sport and social change movement through innovation and collaboration,” said Alexandra Chalat, Managing Director, Beyond Sport.

This Collective Impact initiative is a result of our efforts to provide the best ways hard-working organisations in our sector can grow and make strides toward using sport to achieve the Global Goals. We are thrilled that both the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation and the Swedish Postcode Foundation share that vision for what we believe to be a truly cutting-edge initiative.
