Palestine: Sports for Life (PS4L) organised a fun afternoon for the children of the SOS village in Bethlehem. A lot of bright smiles and happy faces were seen on the courtyards this past Thursday.

Volunteers from PS4L organised a fun afternoon for the children of SOS village, full of sport activities and laughter. The date, 6 April, coincided with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, marking the importance of sports in bringing people together.

The event was organised for all the kids of the village and split into two parts: the first half, from 3-4:30pm, for the little ones, and the second, 4:30-6pm, for the kids older than 10. More than 80 energetic kids, girls and boys, rushed from school to change into their sport outfits and join us on the field on the sunny afternoon. The little ones were split into five groups but during the activities merged into four (the watermelon eating competition was just too tasty for some of the boys to pass on).

Every group participated in following activities: Zumba and Body Shape with bouncy Marwa, football games (balling, supermarket) with Suad and Hussam, teambuilding activities (watermelon eating competition, jump rope, water balloons) with Nour, basketball games with Amani and a football game with Alaa and Momen. It was an afternoon full of fun! The kids were awesome so we are looking forward to organising it again! Big thanks to our coaches for taking time off to come all the way from Tulkarem, Nablus, Ramallah, Betlehem, Hebron and Jerusalem.
