Meet Charity Muthoni, she is her teams captain, top goal scorer and is now the Chairman of one of the Mathare Youth Sport Association (MYSA) zones in Kenya. Did I mention she’s 11 years old?

Charity Muthoni will rule over meetings in the Kayole Zone which just happens to be the largest of the 16 chapters, with more than 2000 members.

Charity is pretty philosophical about her position and hopes it will help in her aspirations to be a footballer, scientist or a journalist.

Her catch cry is: "If you can dream it, you can achieve it”.

MYSA works with youth in the Mathare Valley under 16 years of age. In particular they are working with young people living in slums using football as a tool to educate them about the environment, HIV/AIDS, leadership and community service.

Charity speaks highly of the organisation:
"Being a member of MYSA has helped me improve my self-esteem and confidence... It's also helped me and other members of my community pay school fees and realise our talents and capabilities."
