Run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers, this organisation aims to coach cricket in rural Sub Saharan Africa and promote HIV/AIDS awareness.

Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB)

is a UK cricket development and HIV/AIDS awareness charity, which since it's inception in 2005, has coached over 20,000 children in 8 countries across Africa.

CWB has three main goals:

  • To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach
  • To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions
  • To bring together and empower local communities through cricket

In partnership with local implementing partners and international sports federations, CWD provides direct assistance to organisations working in 'hard to reach' communities, in rural areas.

Promoting Cricket as a vehicle for social change, CWB take a sustainable approach with each project partner to ensure the promotion of the sport and healthy lifestyle do not end when the project does.

Recent partnerships include the high profile
Maasai Cricket Warriors in Kenya. Working with the organisation to provide kit and coaching, CWD have seen the organisation go from strength to strength in spreading cricket in the region and adapting the CWB AIDS message to Maasai ways.

Co-founder and trustee Chris Kangis believes, "The projects in which we are involved have confirmed my belief that Cricket is an outstanding means to inspire and develop the lives of children and adults, irrespective of race or religion."
