The Sports Authority of Jharkhand and its partners are using 6 April to spread awareness about the power of sport as a tool for development.
Activity
Message
The following activites have been organised for IDSDP 2015:
- A mass run
- Honouring the sports stars of the Jharkand region
- Advocating the S4D mission
- Creation of awareness for sports and health
- Knowledge sharing on Olympism and the Olympic Movement
- Topic of "Sport, a compulsion and tool for overall development, transparency, gender, race, caste equity, anti-reservation nature etc." to be elaborated in detail among the guests and dignitaries
- A movement called "Sports: A divine blessing to mankind" shall also be discussed
- A body building show
- A screening of IDSDP speeches by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UNOSDP's Wilfried Lemke and IOC president Jaques Rogge
Message
Being a citizen of India, I urge that 6 April be used to celebrate with enthusiasm all over the world and the UN to expedite and pass on necessary directives to all the nations with significant motive.
In our country many of the stakeholders of sports and people in general still do not have any idea about this great day. Like the other important international days, the IDSDP ought to be recognised and celebrated.
