Delivering a balanced or holistic approach in S&D programmes is often advised, but difficult to implement. In your opinion, what are three main challenges we face in trying to maintain a balance between sport and other components?
Can you describe a bad example of trying to embed sport in other interventions aimed at addressing health
issues?
- not knowing and or understanding the needs or the culture of the target population
- trying to achieve too much
- not being able to measure and backing up results
Can you describe a bad example of trying to embed sport in other interventions aimed at addressing health
issues?
A bad example would be to focus on e.g. HIV/AIDS issues in areas where there are other more urgent development and/or humanitarian issues to be addressed, because donor-partners can get financial support for such interventions.
