Global Peace Games 2009
The Games take place in your community, are locally organized, low cost and affordable.
The solidarity of children and youth in this worldwide endeavor is made possible through electronic/email connections.
The Games are held annually in the fall some time around September 21, the date of the United Nations International Day of Peace, and focus on the involvement of children and youth in global friendship.
They are meant to show how the values of sport can be applied in our communities and daily lives to peaceful solutions, unity and respect for others.
Each organizing community group can sign the UNESCO Manifesto, created by Nobel Peace Laureates, and via email, will receive special messages from the United Nations and from FIFA to be read at the event. A Certificate of Participation and a Report will be sent after the Games. The Games have been held annually since 2001 and last year more than 50 countries were represented, with thousands of participants.
