Celebrating 12 years of promoting peace throughout the world through their programmes, Generations for Peace looked back on their journey thus far.

On 25 April 2019 in Amman, Jordan, His Royal Highness Prince Feisal Al Hussein marked the 12th Anniversary of Generations For Peace at a special event hosting an array of VIPs from local media, embassies, and organisational partners at its headquarters in Amman’s Sport City, sharing some of the NGO’s major milestones over its 12 years of operation.

The “12-Year Journey” event was held under the patronage of HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein and invited guests to enjoy a message from Generations For Peace President Dr. Mohanned Al Arabiat, which included a presentation providing an overview of the organisation’s new Arabic Identity, and a sample of its innovative peacebuilding activities used to empower youth to transform conflict in Jordan and around the globe. The event concluded with dinner and refreshments surrounded by a themed photo gallery highlighting the impactful history of Generations For Peace.

HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Founder and Chairman of Generations For Peace, said, “Opportunities like this, where we gather many of our valued partners in media, governments, and donors, play an important role for Generations For Peace. We embrace the opportunity to share the impressive strides we have made as the #29 NGO in the World, both in Jordan and abroad, through our programmes, our research, and our implementation efforts. The story of Generations For Peace’s ‘12-Year Journey’ shared at this event is a powerful reminder of the potential we have to grow together when we unite under a common goal and empower those youth on whom our future rests with the skills they need to transform conflict and build peace.

He added, “It is with pride that we share the progress we have made as an organisation in 50 countries across the globe, and it is with humility that we thank our volunteers and partners around the world for their diverse contributions to sharing in our efforts and passing them on!

In the last 12 years, Generations For Peace has trained and mentored more than 11,500 volunteer leaders of youth in 50 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. With the organisation’s support, their ongoing programmes address local issues of conflict and violence, and have touched the lives of more than 525,880 children, youth, and adults. Ranked 29th in the “Top 500 NGOs in the World” for 2018 by NGO Advisor, Generations For Peace is the second-highest ranked peacebuilding organisation in the world and the leading Jordanian NGO.
