X-SUBA Sport4Development Uganda will organise a health education project along with games and netball for IDSDP.
How will you be celebrating on the day?

In partnership with Netball Development Trust and Freedom4Girls, X-SUBA Sport4Development Uganda will be launching the menstrual health programme for young adolescents who struggle to access menstrual products and education. The celebrations are scheduled for 6 April 2019 two days after the official IDSDP date. The project which has been named “Wakanda” will work in providing reusable sanitary pads, menstrual health education and use netball and as engagement tool. The main goal of the project is that such girls can compete favourably like their counterparts in school, sports, make informed decisions about their sexual reproductive health. On the day, we shall play netball, interactive education about menstrual health, fun games and distribute re-usable to 75 young disadvantaged girls and teach them how to use them. We shall also have workshops with teachers on how they can use netball as a tool for communication about sexual reproductive health needs.

What does 6 April mean to you?

In recognition of the International Day of Sport and Development for Peace (IDSDP) 2019, X-SUBA Sport4Development Uganda will be joining the rest of the world to recognise the role of sport in development and conflict resolution.
