Invitation to join the International Safeguarding Children in Sport Initiative’s advisory board

Sport can bring out the best in children, empowering them to realise their potential, but sport can only do this if it is delivered in a safe and supportive environment.

In 2012, a group of organisations working in sport, child protection, and international development, came together to explore how to make sport safer for children around the world. Together, these organisations make up the International Safeguarding Children in Sport Initiative.

Call for expressions of interest (EOI)

The International Safeguarding Children in Sport Initiative is currently seeking three additional board members and a chair to complete the governance for this major global initiative.

Given the geographic spread of existing board members, and the aspiration for the governance of the initiative to be globally representative, expressions of interest to join the board or take on the role of chair are particularly welcome from individuals representing Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Current board members include representatives of government, international NGOs and international federations.

Expressions of interest, detailing in no more than one side, why you would like to join the board, the specific skills and experience you bring, the geographic region you represent and whether you are interested in being considered for the role of chair of the initiative, should be shared with the secretariat c/o [email protected]
