Invitation to take part in a research study on “Why Sport?”

Your participation is requested in an online exercise about sport's role in development.

As committed practitioners and researchers for using sport as a tool for development, we have a vested interest in advancing practice in the sport for development and peace (SDP) field. Currently, we are conducting a study on the unique qualities of sport in facilitating development agendas in SDP. In short, we are interested in answering the question “Why sport?”

Given you are an active practitioner in SDP, we are seeking your valuable assistance by giving of your time at two points in time to engage in an online exercise with us about sport’s role in development. Your total time commitment for the project would be 60-90 minutes, and your responses will be totally anonymous.

  • In Phase 1 (August – September 2018), you will be asked to generate a set of statements revolving around why sport is an effective development tool
  • In Phase 2 (October – November 2018), you will be asked to group, sort and rate statements generated by all study participants in Phase 1

We greatly appreciate your thoughts, time, and consideration to engage with us in this process.

If you are willing, please click here by 30 September to be taken to Phase 1 of this activity (which is in English).

Simply select the “participate anonymously” button and you are set to go! You may wish to write down your system generated username and password if you are not able to complete the sorting and rating task in one sitting and wish to log in again in the future to do so.

Thank you for your consideration of our request. If you have any questions, please contact either one of us by email at:
