On Tuesday January 9, 2018, the French Ligue de Football Professionnel unveiled “Reveal our talents”, its new CSR programme, launched in partnership with Epic and Simplon.

As emphasised in “Jouons-la collectif !”, the state of play on social impact made by the Ligue de Football Professionnel in June 2017 (available in French here), French professional soccer has partnered with grassroots organisations, local governments, and volunteers for many years already. To further this commitment and to strengthen its impact, the LFP aims to create long-lasting partnerships with professional clubs.

In that perspective, the LFP is launching a new flagship programme called “Reveal our talents!” nationwide. The launch coincides with the beginning of the second half of the soccer season. With this new programme, starting on the 20th day of the Ligue one Conforama and the Domino’s Ligue two championships, every time a goal is scored, 100€ will be donated to Simplon via Epic.

Thanks to Epic’s innovative solutions and one-of-a-kind approach in the philanthropic industry, the programme rises to meet the expectations of professional French soccer:

- Reveal Our Talents supports a cause – children and youth – and a specific emphasis – education and economic empowerment – aligned with the clubs key drivers,

- Epic offers a thorough monitoring methodology with metrics and KPIs,

- Epic delivers a local activation across the country, with national and international impact,

- Reveal Our Talents illustrates the league’s ability to innovate.

Thanks to Simplon, the “Reveal our talents!” programme will be effectively implemented through the donation mechanism triggered each time a goal is scored. Simplon is part of the Epic portfolio. The social entreprise offers free engineering education to youth in disadvantaged areas, especially under 25.

The “Reveal our talents!” programme will be rolled out throughout the season and implemented by clubs on an opt-in basis. RC Lens, Toulouse FC and OGC Nice have already confirmed their participation and will act as pilot clubs.

Clubs will benefit from the robust network of Simplon schools that spreads across the country and many ideas to further develop collaboration have already been identified from welcoming developers in the clubs, facilitating mentoring between Simplon students and clubs employees, to arranging coding nights for the clubs’ stakeholders (talents, partners, fans), and more.

Nathalie Boy de la Tour, President of the Ligue de Football Professionnel, explains: “Since our clubs reveal and help talents grow on the field, it was natural that our CSR programme should achieve the same goal. Through the “Reveal our talents!” programme, the Ligue and the clubs offer free engineering education to disadvantaged people - and professional soccer demonstrates its commitment to youth.

Alexandre Mars, Founder & CEO of Epic comments: “Once again we are glad to make it possible for an industry to give thanks to a targeted solution which adheres to their activities and specific operational model. This fun and innovative programme puts social good at the center of the field and the heart of the game. With ‘Reveal our Talents’, professional soccer demonstrates that each and every company and industry should be able to join the movement to make giving the norm.

Frédéric Bardeau, Co-Founder & CEO of Simplon adds: “Sport is a powerful way to foster economic empowerment and social inclusiveness. The same goes with jobs in the digital world, particularly for youth in disadvantaged areas, the heartland and inner cities. That’s why the free training and skills provided by Simplon, delivered with no prerequisite degrees and no discrimination, make a big difference. This partnership is a incredible opportunity for Simplon and all of its learners. Beyond the financial support it will provide, we will be working hand in hand with soccer clubs whose audience overlaps with our students across our 30 schools nationwide.
