Mama Fit, for all women

TIBU Maroc continues to position sport as a powerful tool for designing innovative solutions to the complex challenges of the 21st century.

Sport is one of the most powerful platforms for promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. As a major actor in social innovation through sport, TIBU Maroc announces on the occasion of International Women's Day, the Mama Fit program with the support of Jibal.

Sunday, March 7, 2021, in the presence of the Governor of the Ain Sebaâ - Hay Mohammadi prefecture, the President of Ain Sebaâ the district as well as several representatives of civil society and the private sector, Mohamed Amine Zariat, President of TIBU Maroc and Mrs. Khadija Kadiri, Marketing Director at Jibal kicked off the Mama Fit program for 100 housewives aged between 25 and 50 years.

“It is not acceptable that sport remains, in some neighbourhoods, an activity designed for and by men and practiced almost exclusively by men. Mama Fit is a solution that allows women to practice sport on a regular basis in their neighbourhoods.

Making the latter a place of innovation in women's sports, the women enrolled in Mama Fit will be able to develop their motor and social skills through a multidisciplinary experience where personal development and physical activity revolve around the strength of sport as a means of positive transformation for women,” said Mohamed Amine Zariat, Ashoka Fellow and Founding President of TIBU Morocco.

“For Jibal, Moroccan mothers are the heroes of everyday life because they carry noble and multiple responsibilities. This is why Jibal is constantly innovating to provide them with the best and healthiest options for themselves and their families. Today, Jibal joins TIBU to pay tribute to the mothers and offer them the opportunity to flourish and express themselves through sports and personal development,” said Mrs Khadija Kadiri, Marketing Director of Jibal.

Mama Fit is in line with national and global policies that aim at empowering women. TIBU Maroc believes in the power of sport in order to accompany women in the neighbourhoods to excel both on the fields and to make the right decisions in their daily lives through a series of inspiring modules animated by professional coaches and female athletes three times a week.

The Mama Fit program also includes the families of beneficiaries by offering fun activities for their children.
