One month until the RESPONSIBALL Forum!

We're on countdown at RESPONSIBALL HQ, with only one month until the Forum on Refugees and Sport in Lausanne.

We're pleased to welcome speakers and panellists from international federations, clubs and NGOs to Lausanne, the epicentre of the international sports world. For a more complete overview, including speakers, agenda and logistical information, please visit the Forum website.

Registration is still open, and we'd love to see you there.

As the Forum approaches, we are pleased to share #Sport4Refugees Perspectives, in which we've asked the people most involved in programmes related to refugees and sport to share their thoughts, their experiences and their hopes for the role that sport can play.

Follow along on the RESPONSIBALL website and social media channels, and use the hashtag #Sport4Refugees to get involved.

Migration is certainly not new phenomenon, and for those forcibly displaced today the reasons have clear echos of the past: poor economic opportunities, fear of persecution, threat of war or violence, to name a few. But in a world where, often, the words 'migrant' or 'refugee' have been allotted a new meaning..."

I'd like to see sport do more for refugees and migrants because we live in a globalised, ever changing postmodern world, and sport has the power to bring people from different backgrounds together..."

There’s no doubt that sports can do more to help, even grassroots clubs. They just need to understand how. I work a lot with smaller football clubs who tell me that they simply don’t have the time or resources to invest in integrating refugees..."

If you or someone you know works with or is a refugee/asylum seeker who is involved with sport and interested in being featured in one of our stories, please send a message to Mia at mia.salvemini@responsiball.org.

We look forward to seeing you one month in Lausanne!
