Para Cyclist Ascends Highest Mountain Peak in Spain

Watch a video of para cyclist Michael Teuber ascending the highest mountain in Spain, Pico del Teide on Tenerife. He begins the journey on a road racing bike before changing to a mountain bike, and finally completes the ascent by foot.

This 3718 metre ascent was never going to be easy for Teuber whose lower legs are both paralysed. Matters were complicated by him receiving a painful injury during a cycle race prior to this challenge.

Teuber was determined to complete the journey in one day and did so, Speaking of the effort he said:
“Everything is possible… if you just put your mind to it and go for it, you will make it”.
