Events from the last two weeks included a conference on disability in sport, streetfootbalworld's 2016 festival and the 21st Congress of the European College of Sport Science.

Disability sport: Why do we ‘dis’ people’s abilities?

Building on the success of the first two conferences held in 2012 and 2014, the Centre for Business in Society hosted an international, inter-disciplinary conference for academics and practitioners. This year’s conference took place on 27 - 29 June at Coventry University in the UK.

streetfootballworld Festival 16

This event was one of the biggest ever ‘football for good’ festivals and an official event of UEFA's EURO 2016. The event took place in Lyon, France, from 28 June to 7 July and featured a street soccer tournament played by football3 rules designed to promote tolerance and youth leadership as well as an educational and cultural exchange programme.

The 21st Congress of the European College of Sport Science

"Crossing Borders through Sport Science" as a conference theme reflected the long-lasting tradition of Austria in bringing together people from all over the world, but also the emphasis of the European College on fully covering all disciplines and topics within sport science. The University of Vienna hosted the congress on 6-9 July.
