Participants at the Fourth International Conference on Sport and Society held on 13-15 June in Chicago, USA, addressed technological, social, ethical and political responses to sport and society.



MMUCF Football, Community and Sustainability International Conference

This conference, hosted on 13-14 June, took place in Manchester, United Kingdom. Football industry practitioners, academics, fans, journalists and researchers debated the realities and challenges faced by football, such as issues of diversity, inclusion and sustainability.




10th International Yoga Asana Championship 2013

The 10th International Yoga Asana Championship took place in Los Angeles, USA, on 7-9 June. It gathered competitors from 30 countries and featured exhibitors, demonstrations, clinics and more.



3rd International Forum on Sport for Peace and Development

Under the theme of “Creating a Common Vision”, high-level stakeholders from governments, the sporting community, the UN system, the academic and business worlds, civil society and the media debated on the impact of sport in achieving the Millennium Development Goals on 5-6 June, in New York.




Sport for Urban Development

During the conference on 5 June, in London, United Kingdom, evidence from projects led in London, the West Midlands and South Gloucestershire were presented to show that sport is effective in engaging marginalised young people, tackling youth crime and reducing reoffending.
