Registration for the much anticipated Next Step Conference 2010 to be held from 17-20 November in Cape Town South Africa is now open. Delegates wishing to participate are urged to submit their applications to attend as soon as possible due to the limited availability of conference spaces.

SCORE

and its partners cordially invite all interested parties to apply to attend The Next Step Conference 2010. The fourth edition of this leading global forum for Sport and Development will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 17-20 November 2010.

The conference will follow the format of a series of interactive workshops and has been designed to optimise the participation and interaction of delegates.

Participant places are therefore limited.
SCORE invites all local, national and international Sport and Development practitioners, governmental and non-governmental organisations and interested individuals to apply for a place at this year’s event to share their knowledge and experiences.

The overarching theme of The Next Step Conference 2010 will be the Legacy of 2010 and the Next Step for the Sport and Development sector.

Other major topics for discussion threading through the conference will include Gender, Monitoring & Evaluation, Quality of Sport, Child Protection and Partnerships. Each of these topics will allow delegates an opportunity to discuss the cross-cutting themes of Organisational Capacity, Advocacy, Policy, Technological Innovation and Communications.

The 4th Next Step Conference follows on the successes of the previous conferences held in Amsterdam in 2003, Livingstone in 2005 and in Windhoek in 2007.

The conference will offer Sport and Development practitioners the opportunity to engage in debate and discuss issues pertaining to their field of expertise, as well as offer specific capacity building sessions.

As only a limited number of delegates can participate in the conference, delegates will be selected on the basis of a participant profile. Please refer to the registration process below:

On-line Discussions

The online space will be activated by 8 October 2010. Participants are urged to provide on-line suggestions for steps to be taken after the Next Step conference and on the future of The Next Step platform.
