SAG to conduct largest PE teacher training programme in Gujarat
The Excellence in Learning and Management of Sports and Physical Literacy (ELMS) Sports Foundation, mentored by Pullela Gopichand & Abhinav Bindra, is the knowledge partner delivering world-class Indianised content made under their guidance.
ELMS Sports Foundation is conducting the first workshop in the ‘Train the Trainers’ programme under the patronage of Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG).
The ELMS team of experts will conduct a three day training for around 170 physical education (PE) teachers from the four zones of Gujarat. The workshop will deliver the first module of ‘Master Trainer's Training’ and will be held from 25 July to 2 August in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
This is one of the country’s biggest projects of its kind in the field of physical education. It will touch upon topics such as physical literacy, the role of physical education, value-based education, child psychology and child development.
“This workshop is first vital step towards our goal of empowering the physical education teachers with the right knowledge and support to get optimal results for their efforts. This promises to be an exciting moment for all involved,” Badminton legend Pullela Gopichand, a mentor and promoter of ELMS, said.
Olympic Gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra said:
This workshop will impart modern techniques and practices at the grassroots level. This programme will impact these PE teachers and the 45k students they train in school and outside school.”
The workshop sessions will be delivered by the team of experts of ELMS Sports Foundation from 25 July to 2 August at Bhavnagar Sports Complex, Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
