With 6 April approaching, members of the sport for development community are taking to social media to connect.

As in previous years, raising awareness for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) takes place largely online. Sharing your photos and events not only connects you with other members of the community, but it can also encourage newcomers to get involved in the promotion of sport for development and peace.

There are several ways that you can use social media to support the IDSDP:

  • The United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) is accepting photo submissions until 24 March. Learn more about this campaign here
  • Show your support with an IDSDP profile picture on Facebook. You can upload your photo here to automatically generate your picture with the IDSDP logo
  • As always, hashtags are a great way to assemble community members. This year’s official hashtags are #IDSDP2017, #IDSDP, #WePlayTogether and #WhiteCard
  • Participate in Peace and Sport’s activities by taking part in the White Card campaign and sharing your activities on april6.org
  • Don’t forget to follow @IDSDP on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Let us know what you have planned for 6 April at [email protected].
