Skateistan builds self confidence among vulnerable women in Cambodia
The young women at the Cambodian Women's Development Agency (CWDA) safe shelter in Phnom Penh were introduced to skateboarding for the first time. Initially, the young women watched Rachel and Dani (programme coordinators) demonstrate how to skate, before having a go themselves.
Gender empowerment through skateboarding
The skateboarding session, which was designed to build confidence, was held in the indoor conference room at the safe shelter, Phnom Penh.
During the skate session, the young ladies watched "Faranas: Through My Eyes" a video clip from Skateistan, Kabul while Chanthou, our Social Worker, translated the English subtitles into Khmer.
