The United Nations Information Centre in Tokyo (UNIC Tokyo) and the Japan Sports Agency has launched a digital campaign in collaboration with its partner organisations.

The United Nations Information Centre in Tokyo (UNIC Tokyo) and the Japan Sports Agency has launched a digital campaign in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Sport For Tomorrow Consortium, which the Japan Sport Council plays a role in to spread the power of sport towards peace and Sustainable Development Goals.

More than 50 former and current athletes, coaches and other notable persons and organisations endorse this initiative.

We are spreading those messages by using the following three hashtags:

  • #IDSDP2018
  • #スポーツとSDGs (which means “sport and SDGs" in Japanese)
  • #開発と平和のためのスポーツの国際デー (which means “International Day of Sport for Development and Peace” in Japanese)

In the following links, you can find the messages from Olympians, Paralympians, professional athletes, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Commissioner of the Japan Sports Agency, PIKOTARO, and many more.

And here is the article written by interns at UNIC Tokyo in English involved in this initiative.
