TT Dream Building Fund - Call open!

If you and your organisation want to smash down the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using table tennis, this is the fund for you!

The 2019 International Day of the Eradication of Poverty theme is: “Acting together to empower children, their families and communities to end poverty ”.

On this day, 17 October, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Foundation is proud to open its annual Dream Building Fund and encourage local actors to use sport as a tool for development. Goal 1 of the Sustainable Development Goals - No poverty - is a cross cutting issue and remains one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. In aiming to address poverty and other SDGs, “access to quality social services must be a priority," as highlighted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. Table tennis provides a unique opportunity to deliver social projects and empower communities.

Since it's inception last year, the Dream Building Fund has supported six projects across four continents in Ecuador, France, Kenya, the Netherlands, the United States of America and Uganda. Dream Building projects aim to achieve the SDGs and build stronger communities, promote equality and provide opportunities for those most in need. From today until 10 November 2019, the ITTF Foundation is accepting applications for new projects to support.

Eligible projects: Who is this for?

Projects must aim to achieve a targeted UN SDG using table tennis as a vehicle and have a clearly defined theory of change. Applicants should be registered non-profit sport, social or table tennis organisations, with the project leader acting as the point of contact who is also responsible for reporting.

Monitoring & evaluation requirements are in place to ensure smooth implementation, regular follow-up of each project and to optimise the support provided by the ITTF Foundation.

Each project will last from two to three years and have a clear exit strategy defined at the end of its first year.

Dream building history

The ITTF has a long history of supporting and implementing humanitarian, peace, reconciliation and community projects for nearly 20 years. The ITTF Foundation, through the Dream Building programme, is now dedicated to the theme of 'Solidarity through Table Tennis'.

The 2019 cycle saw 74 applications submitted, with projects requesting support for a range of SDGs, including good health and wellbeing, quality education, no poverty, reduced inequality and gender equality as the most prominent.

We look forward to receiving your applications before 10 November!
