"The key to our long-term sustainability is our motivated volunteers." On International Volunteer Day, Football for All Vietnam highlights the importance of those that contribute their time towards an organisation's work.

With the project being in a crucial phase for its long term future and more and more big events coming up, Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) does not only rely on its regular staff. The key to long-term sustainability is our motivated volunteers. They are the ones that keep everything running on club level and help us out whenever the workload threatens to overwhelm us in the office.

Without volunteers, our project would just not be possible and they are essential for the sustainability of grassroots football in Vietnam and every other country in the world, even if it’s just by coming to matches and supporting the players. That’s why every sports organisation should never take them for granted and never forget to give them the recognition they deserve. Here are some of the incredible characters that support FFAV with all their heart and sometimes against all odds.

Mr. Nguyen Van Xuan
Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Yen - a member of Huong Ho football club in Huong Tra town - shared with us a story about a special person who always participates and supports the club activities with the spirit of volunteerism:.

Mr. Ha Van Vot

If you come to watch any football tournament at Huong Thuy district, you will meet Mr. Ha Van Vot, a 78 year old man who might surprise you with his passion when giving his hand to organising activities.

Mr. Cu

In Mr. Cu's words: “Mr. Anders invited me to help him take the photos of the children when they were playing football. I agreed immediately without hesitation because I thought that it’s wonderful to do something for them. After the football match, I printed out the photos and gave one free photo for each player. When I saw the happy smiles on their faces, I surly knew that I must do something more for them."
