This dissertation proposes that the role of cricket in Indo-Pakistan relations between 1999 and 2005 both reflects and furthers diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan.
This is analysed in the context of the 'multi-track' system of diplomacy. Two opposing theories regarding the benefits or costs of the relationship between sport and international relations are used to examine the use of sport in strengthening diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan.
