This study examines the extent to which 42 Sport for Development related organisations use sport as a tool for development. The study also ascertains whether there is a prevalent approach to development among them.
The comparisons made among the selected organisations assess the similarities and differences in terms of
- development type
- scope of organizational support and level of operational outreach
- effect
The main reason for the comparison of the organisations is to find out more about how the idea of Sport for Developmen works.
The study concludes that the key to understanding the use of sport as a tool for development is social capital.
