The first international U-16 youth Hockey is Diversity tournament will take place on 6-7 April 2013 in Eppelheim, Germany.
The tournament is organised by the hockey club Polar Bears Eppelheim in close cooperation with Hockey is Diversity Goodwill Ambassador Uwe Warnecker. On 6-7 April, eight teams from Germany, Czech Republic and the Netherlands will compete for the first Hockey is Diversity trophy.

The Polar Bears Eppelheim support the initiative Hockey is Diversity that aims to create awareness on diversity and using sports as a tool to promote a peaceful environment. "We are extremely proud that with the help of our Goodwill Ambassador Uwe Warnecker and Ronni Kommander from the Polar Bears Eppelheim we were able to organize a top-class tournament for young adults and raise further awareness!" said founders of Hockey is Diversity Peter Goldbach and Martin Hyun.

Background information on Hockey is Diversity
Hockey is Diversity is an initiative of former and current German pro ice hockey players with a migrant background. The initiative is committed to celebrating and raising awareness of diversity. Recognising the importance of sports as a bridge to unite people of different backgrounds, cultures and religions, it aims to motivate young players with a migrant background to play hockey, a game that knows no ethnic and cultural barriers.
