ACHPER Victorian Branch organises the 28th ACHPER International Health and Physical Education Conference on 27-29 November 2013 in Melbourne, the sporting capital of the world.

This year's theme 'A Defining Time' examines the Australian Curriculum and the significance of Health and Physical Education moving into the future. Educators are being asked what role they will play in shaping the Health and Physical Education learning area. The International Conference will provide vision, direction and initiatives of what HPE will look in the 21 century whilst encouraging educators to share their views.

The keynote speakers have been chosen by the Conference Program Committee for their awareness of current developments in teaching, learning, physical activity provision and health promotion in Australia and Internationally. An appealing and stimulating conference programme will bring to life the vision of the conference with a good mix of theory and practical applications to enrich your professional growth. They include Professor David Kirk AcSS, head of the Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy Research Group and Director of the Institute for Sport and Physical Activity Research and Professor John Loughran who is interested in the pedagogy of teacher.

"The Health and Physical Education profession is at a defining moment. The community is buzzing with talk of the impending National Curriculum and the impact this has for us as practitioners, administrators and supporters of the industry. The 28th ACHPER International Conference reflects the need for teachers and industry professionals to remain current through high quality, diverse and stimulating professional learning"
