2nd Latin American Congress on Football for Social Development
More than 30 organisations from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Paraguay have been invited to share experiences and ideas, and to discuss creating stronger societies through education and football.
Chico Whitaker, co-founder of the World Social Forum in Brazil and recipient of the Alternative Nobel Prize in 2006, will address social issues with the participants in an open debate. Under the theme “A different world is possible”, political viewpoints will be discussed as well as the creation of networks and their power to strengthen civil societies.
Other speakers at the event include Latin American streetfootballworld network members, representatives from streetfootballworld and the Red Partidí network that CDI leads Paraguay.
The event has been officially recognised by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Paraguay. It is being co-organised by Fundación Fu.De., which is responsible for the regional co-ordination of the streetfootballworld network in Latin America.
