Join the United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD) and The Foundation for Global Sports Development and SideWinder Films for a virtual panel titled 30/30 – Sports as a Tool for Advocacy and Development.

The event will be held on 25 February at 1:00 PM EST/10:00 AM PST. American Sign Language (ASL) and CART will be provided. All are welcome!

Our ninety-minute online event will focus on how Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), participation in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sport, and Goal 11 of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable has been used to elevate the conversations on the need for the inclusion of disabled people’s advocacy and education in all developments opportunities and how you can support wider efforts.

The panel will be facilitated by USICD’s Vice President, Candace Cable, and Karin Korb, Lakeshore Foundation Policy and Public Affairs Coordinator.

Panelists include:

  • Charlotte McClain Nhlapo - Global Disability Advisor, World Bank Group 
  • Keith Jones – President/CEO of Soul Touchin’ Experiences and co-founder Krip Hop Nation 
  • Vladimir Cuk - Executive Director, International Disability Alliance
  • Ann Cody – Special Advisor, US Department of State
  • Victor Calise - Commissioner, New York City Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities
