The 3rd International Symposium on International Development and Peace through Sport
To enhance education and research and build networks in the field of international development and peace through sport, the University of Tsukuba and the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya have co-hosted the symposium in cooperation with Japan Sport Council since 2013.
Activities involving sport and development have been attracting rising attention in Japan. ‘Sport For Tomorrow’, a governmental initiative to pursue contributions to development and peace through sport, has been expanding in anticipation of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.
This event will offer interactive sessions with participants, in addition to presentations from academics and practitioners. We hope to provide a space to learn, discuss and share ideas together on international development and peace through sport.
