The VIII Healthy Lifestyle Seminar "Challenges of Healthy Cities" will be held in Medellin, Colombia on 5 – 6 September. This event will bring together various stakeholders in the health and sport sector to strengthen work in public policy, build networks and create synergies.

Since 2005, the Institute of Sports and Recreation (INDER) in partnership with the Secretary of Health has been leading the fight to promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles in Medellin. We are bringing together other cities and entities to deepen the health promotion debate - looking to mobilize public policies, programs and projects that generate a better quality of life for our citizens.

Methodology
The seminar will have an academic section with speeches, papers, workshops and debates for different audiences on both 5 and 6 September. The themes are: a healthy model by the local government; social control of local health management; health models; corporate social responsibility; and Medellin: A health perspective.

Additionally, this event ends with workshops whose objective is to put into practice the knowledge acquired according to the needs of the community: teachers, mothers and students to name a few. Workshop topics will include: how to manage a smoker in the family; how to practice healthy physical activity at any age; and how to make healthy meals.
