London, UK

London is home to some of the most exciting and innovative grassroots football tournaments in the UK, however there is a real lack of female led competitions despite the recent interest and growth in numbers within women’s football.

Boiler Room Ladies FC, an amateur football team hailing from Hackney, East London want to change these perceptions by hosting their debut football tournament – Playing For Kicks, a tournament made for women by women.

Playing For Kicks aims to provide a day of enjoyment whilst raising the profile of women’s grassroots football and encourages women to take part and support.

The event will take place on Saturday 24 September 2016 at Powerleague, Shoreditch from 11am – 6pm. For this tournament Boiler Room Ladies FC are proud to partner with Women In Sport – a charity that the team firmly believe can change the representation of women in sport. 100% of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to directly to the charity.
