Discover Football Women's Football & Culture Festival

Eight women’s teams from around the world – about 100 football players, coaches, referees and activists – will be invited to participate in this event in Berlin. The program will include workshops and training sessions as well as public friendly matches, exhibitions, panel discussions and forums, outdoor activities, concerts and films.

For 10 years Discover Football has connected women football players from all over the world and together we have positively impacted the situation of women in football and society. 

At this year's Discover Football Festival in Berlin eight international teams will compete in a friendly tournament. As part of the festival, a variety of social and cultural programmes will take place, including workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and film screenings. 

The opening ceremony will take place at 6pm on 30 July 2019, followed by the opening game at 7pm. 

At our opening ceremony you will meet over 100 football players, trainers, and referees from around the world, women sharing their extraordinary life stories and passion for women's rights and fair play in football worldwide. Ines Pohl (chief editor of Deutsche Welle) will host the exciting evening of events.

Call for applicants:

  • Teams: Discover Football invites football teams (grassroot/amateur teams as well) to apply now. A team should consist of 11 female-identified players and one coach, who is also preferably a woman. Find out more here
