EFDN STEM Network at Stamford Bridge

EFDN, Chelsea FC & Feyenoord invite all interested clubs, leagues and organisations to travel to Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, on 4 September to learn more about the new EFDN STEM Network.

Wed, 09/04/2019 - 12:30 to 16:00

Stamford Bridge
United Kingdom

The EFDN STEM Network launch will be a coming together of like-minded, European football clubs and foundations, who wish to explore STEM education as a new community programme area and take their first steps towards driving innovation in STEM education through football. The day will include keynote talks from Chelsea FC and industry experts from the world of STEM and technology, as well as hands-on experience of Chelsea’s Robot Football coding game, and round tables to discuss STEM and kick off the new STEM Network.

Chelsea FC have been actively delivering STEM education programmes in schools and communities across London and Surrey over the past three years, as well as overseas in the US, and supporting Feyenoord Foundation to start their own STEM education journey. Chelsea FC launched the worlds first Robot Football coding game using a Sphero robot, as well as delivery, design, and engineering programmes focused on Nike football boot design and stadium design, as well as teaching the importance of robotics in the 21st century.

The EFDN STEM Network wishes to engage EFDN members who are keen to start their own journey of STEM Education for their club and community and want to be part of an alliance that will drive change and impact lives across Europe.

Participation in the event is free of charge but places are limited. The event is on 4 September; starting at 12:30 pm and ending at 4 pm. You can register for the event here.
