The Future of Sport 2018
The Future of Sport 'Activity and Employment' responds to your call for cutting edge input across themes including physical literacy in early years, tackling childhood obesity and maximising participation throughout the education sector. In addition, the conference will also challenge thinking around how we create a workforce fit for the future, and recognise the significant contribution of the sector to the UK economy.
The challenge to combat inactivity is yet to be met, so 'The Future of Sport' kicks off at the very beginning of the journey with a deep dive into the importance of physical literacy as a bedrock for lifelong participation and wellbeing. This flows into the challenges of childhood obesity and some tangible ways that current resource is being used to encourage more young people to be active throughout the education system. The conference will explore the strategies and guidelines relevant to all our children and crucially bring these to life in terms of their application.
Participation habits will not shift if the sector continues to offer the same propositions in the same way. The needs of consumers are changing and the implications on our workforce are significant. Hear from industry leaders about the skills demand of the future and consider if as a sector we really are ready to embrace the changes needed. The conference will explore how the sport, activity and leisure sector can react to and capitalise on the numerous workforce opportunities, managing current demand, whilst transforming for the future, right across the participation pathway.
Our conference will, through a series of Workshops and plenary discussions, stimulate ideas and the promotion of best practice to meet the needs of participation skills, whilst showcasing numerous strategies and solutions that can inspire planning and facilitate conditions for improvement.
