Hear how Laureus programmes across the world have been operating and adapting to the global pandemic.

It is almost one year to the day that Laureus Sport for Good launched its Global COVID-19 response. The response had the purpose to support the global Sport for Development sector in tackling the pandemic and making sure children and young people around the world could still engage in safe and inclusive activity.

This included establishing the Sport for Good Response Fund, in partnership with Beyond Sport, adapting ongoing grants and launching new, supporting online safeguarding and other technical challenges throughout the pandemic, sharing best experiences via a number of webinars and online trainings, and engaging with key stakeholders in international development to mobilise continued commitment and a continued flow of resources to the sector throughout the crisis and later in the wake of it.

On April 6, Laureus Sport for Good will be running three webinars, one per time-zone, to celebrate International Day of Sports for Development and Peace and hear from our Laureus programmes in Asia/Pacific, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and South/Central/North America/Caribbean.

We are going to hear:

  • How far they have come in a year
  • What they have learnt about adapting delivery, funding, and operations
  • What has worked well (and not so well)
  • What support is still needed

This is an open event for anyone in the Sports for Development sector (programmes, NGOs, funders, athletes, etc.) to join in the conversation, #OnlyTogether can we use the power of sport to end violence, discrimination and disadvantage.

We hope you can join live and contribute to the discussion. The sessions will be recorded and up on our website following all 3 regions webinars (APAC, EMEA, Americas).
