Never stop learning! Join the next IRTS Network webinar on sport and refugees on 12 May 2021, 13:00 - 14:00 CEST.

ISCA’s Integration of Refugees Through Sport (IRTS) Networking Platform, which has already connected more than 70 EU project leaders and stakeholders in sport and inclusion, is currently making online opportunities open to even more people working in this field to meet, learn, gain recognition for their initiatives, and connect with each other. Next opportunity is coming up is on 12 May from 13.00-14.30 CEST. Join us!

Our first networking webinar was held on 17 March 2021 on the topic of COVID-19 and how it has impacted the work of sports organisations and clubs in their work with refugees. Find the recap of the webinar here and watch the recording of the webinar here.

The main goal of the webinars is to share experiences and make connections between organisations working with refugees. At the same time, the webinars will contribute to the creation of the second IRTS online course: Learning from experts and examples.

Our upcoming second networking webinar, on Wednesday 12 May from 13.00-14.30 CEST will be on the topic of never stop learning! 3 organisations will present their example and experiences with organising training for refugees and trainers in various forms:

  • Tea Iskra, Taekwondo klub Jastreb, Croatia – Sport summer camp within the EU project “Sport education for life”
  • Melanie Schöppner, Alexandra Kreutel, Sabrina Sütö, The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), Germany - Project SMILE - digital teaching and learning for integration in sports
  • Hanna Johansson, RF-SISU/StreetGames Gothenburg, Sweden – Leadership steps

In the second part, we will open the floor to your questions and discussions in smaller groups, where you’ll be able to share your experiences and learn from the other participants of the webinar.

In the upcoming months of 2021 we will hold more networking webinars, so save the dates below and keep an eye on https://irts.isca.org/ for more information.

Step up with refugees!
Refugees need to be included and involved in activities as protagonists. Being proactive in sport can also help refugees gain various skills that can later contribute to their employment, education or training; therefore, we’d also like to showcase examples of that.
16 June 13.00 – 14.30 CET

Include everyone!
Among refugees there are various target groups that need different approaches. We’d like to share examples of involving female refugees, children, families, refugees with disabilities/special needs, LGBQTI, seniors, etc. in community sport.
15 September 13.00 – 14.30 CET

Work together for a bigger impact!
Collaboration and cooperation between different organisations, clubs, local authorities, schools and other stakeholders is important and can make a bigger impact on the target group as well as the local setting. We’d like to showcase examples of how that can be done.
10 November 13.00 – 14.30 CET
