The Kenya Academy of Sports: Sports Conference
The Kenya Academy of Sports (KAS) is hosting their first Sports Conderence, in Nairobi. The conference aims to bring together government officials, sportspersons, professionals, academics, partners, federations, county government officials and other key stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop synergies in the role of sports in the socio-economic development of Kenya.
During the conference, stakeholders will discuss pertinent issues that impact on the sports industry and highlight emerging governance issues and management trends in the sports sector.
Through the conference, KAS hopes to promote the potential for sport to play a role in the nation's development.
Objectives of the conference:
- To exhibit sports talent development initiatives in the counties
- To sensitise the public on the mandate and functions of the academy and the existing talent development opportunities
- To examine the appropriate ways of celebrating and honouring Kenya’s sports heroes
- To appreciate sports sponsors, donors and partners in their roles in the development of sports
- To exploit the networking and partnerships opportunities necessary for a sustainable sports development agenda
