Tanzania considers HIV/AIDS to be the single greatest threat to the country’s security and socio-economic development, as well as to its citizens’ invidual survival and well being. This project is therefore important to sensitize youth to be able to talk freely and comfortably about reproductive health and HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention and treatment, and to change behaviour.
YOSSO aims to empower young people in becoming “Agent of Change” in breaking the silence and tackle te myths and taboo that lead to stigmazation and among young people about HIV/AIDS. The training is delivered through peer coaching, peer referee and peer Educator/counsellor in the centres an ideal context for youth to receive site-based leadership experience. In this project, participants assume the roles of motivating coach, caring counsellor, peer educator and effective communicator.
