Sport and Human Rights: A Conversation with Sarah Joseph
This lunchtime seminar will take the format of a conversation between BIICL Director Professor Robert McCorquodale and Sarah Joseph, Professor of Law at Monash University and the Director of its Castan Centre for Human Rights Law (currently a visiting fellow at BIICL).
Through the conversation Sarah Joseph will explore the multiple links between sport and human rights including: links between major sports events and human rights abuse, labour rights of sportspeople, due process in the context of anti-doping efforts and issues of health of sportspeople. She will explore the legal frameworks and the obligations of various actors including sportspeople, clubs, associations and international committees.
